Arts Education
I have training and experience as an arts and language teacher. I received my training in Japan, where I lived and taught English as a second language for several years.
I have also worked as an art copy writer and curated an illustration website for several years.
After having returned to the UK, I combined my acquired skills in education with my art practice. I have taught lessons and workshops for adults and children in primary and secondary schools in the UK as well for charity.
I am able to construct custom art workshops for children and/or adults of all ages and abilities.
Please feel free to get in contact if you or your institution may be interested in commissioning a custom-created teaching event.
Testimonials:
“Philip ran an excellent art session as a part of our Online Allsorts programme for adults with learning disabilities. He responded to what the participants wanted to do and used this to lead the session. We would certainly invite him back to work with us.”

“Philip Dennis is a fantastic teacher, communicator and illustrator. I strongly recommend Philip if you are considering him to run a workshop at your school/institution. I am a head of Art & DT at an inner city comprehensive secondary school and I asked Philip if he could come in and show the pupils his work but also lead a practical workshop.”
“He led 3 very successful workshops with two year 9 groups and a sixth form group. The workshops were impeccably well organised and he was incredibly conscientious about the overall experience for the students.”
“I personally love Philip’s work and the students also found it very accessible and enjoyed both looking at it and hearing about the journey of the process from inspiration to completion.”
“Philip came across as very approachable, professional and friendly with the students but his pace and rigour ensured all pupils were engaged throughout the entirety of the session. I cannot recommend Philip Dennis enough as a great teacher/workshop leader.”
